From January 13-17, 2025, the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest hosted the LTTA C3: Student Training Week. This Erasmus+ event brought together students, researchers, and industry professionals for a comprehensive, interactive training designed to equip participants with essential skills in data science, IoT, and advanced research methodologies.

Event Highlights:

  • Day 1: Virtual Learning and Pedagogical Innovation
    Led by trainers Tal Soffer, Ricardo Goncalvez, Andre Rocha, Nuno Vilhena, and Manuel Vinhas, participants explored effective virtual lab teaching methodologies, pedagogical models, and practical tools, concluding with presentations and hands-on applications from NOVA.
  • Day 2: Big Data Challenges and Visualization
    Ciprian Dobre, Radu Ciobanu, and Bogdan Mocanu guided attendees through Big Data challenges, the importance of research reproducibility, and data visualization techniques. The day concluded with identifying training needs specific to master’s and doctoral students.
  • Day 3: Student-led Case Studies and Practical Assessments
    Students showcased their research through presentations of personalized case studies, followed by practical training sessions. The day concluded with an evaluation of learning outcomes to ensure skills were effectively acquired.
  • Day 4: IoT Management and Measurement Techniques
    Sessions led by Agustin Caminero, Antonio Robles, Susanna Spinsante, and Stefania Cecchi focused on IoT fleet management in cloud environments, AI solutions for IoT, and handling measurement uncertainty in laboratory environments.
  • Day 5: Future Training Development and Advanced Data Handling
    Participants discussed templates for future training modules based on identified learning needs, and engaged in practical sessions on Jupyter Notebooks, data cleaning, and plotting.

This training week reinforced the strategic partnership between academia and industry, fostering practical skills crucial for future innovation and professional growth.
