An event titled “LLSF Living Labs for the Industry: Skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution” took place on October 9, 2024, hosted by NOVA de Lisboa, in a hybrid format. The event successfully convened industry experts, project leaders, and innovators to discuss initiatives shaping the future of skills needed for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants explored various living lab projects aimed at enhancing industry practices, promoting collaboration, and addressing skills gaps in rapidly evolving sectors. Leading project representatives delivered presentations showcasing their contributions to digital transformation, sustainability, and innovative problem-solving.  

Agenda Highlights:

COMMUNITAS: Joao Martins presented how COMMUNITAS utilizes living labs to enhance community engagement and develop collaborative solutions for complex industrial challenges.  

Smartbear: Carlos Agostinho introduced Smartbear, emphasizing its innovative strategies for integrating intelligent systems and sustainable practices to modernize industry operations.  

XpanDH: Maria Marques discussed XpanDH’s role in transforming digital health by developing tools and skills that drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare.  

xShare: Maria Marques also showcased xShare, highlighting its knowledge-sharing platform that fosters collaborative learning and cross-sector growth.  

DS4HEALTH: Ricardo provided insights into DS4HEALTH, a project leveraging data science to revolutionize health solutions and build critical skills for the industry’s future.  

FITTER-EU: Fernando Ferreira concluded the morning session with a presentation on FITTER-EU, detailing its applications in fitness technologies and their impact on skill development and industry advancements.  

A coffee break followed the morning presentations.
