February 13, 2023 – Lisbon, Portugal – The “Living Labs for the Students of the Future” (LLSF) project partners convened in Lisbon for a productive meeting focused on advancing both administrative and technical aspects of the project. The meeting, held on February 13, 2023, facilitated crucial discussions on project management, communication strategies, and the development of the project’s core toolkit.
Administrative Updates and Communication Enhancements
The meeting commenced with a review of administrative procedures, reinforcing the importance of utilizing the shared online Dropbox link for all project documentation, including contracts, templates, and attendance lists. Partners were reminded to upload their presentations to ensure seamless information sharing. The team also addressed scheduling adjustments due to unforeseen events.
A significant highlight was the unveiling of the new Communication Manual and project logo, presented by the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB). UPB also provided presentation templates incorporating the new branding. The project website is now live and ready for content population, and social media strategies were discussed to enhance project visibility.
Technical Developments and Toolkit Refinement
The technical discussions centered on networking laboratories, infrastructures, and personnel, emphasizing the need to create a cohesive and interconnected learning environment. Tal Soffer (TAU) provided valuable insights on achieving this goal.
NOVA University Lisbon presented a compelling argument for the project’s toolkit methodology, showcasing its connection to NOVA’s smart lab. The toolkit will be expanded to include the concept of a Distributed Lab and will be transformed into a formal deliverable using a provided template.
UPB presented a concept for integrating distributed infrastructure with EduGain, focusing on adaptation rather than extensive construction. Partners will receive instructions on verifying their organization’s Identity Provider (IDP) registration in EduGAIN. Key resources were highlighted, including the project’s Moodle instance (llsf.crescdi.pub.ro) and the institutional data repository (data.crescdi.pub.ro).
Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) presented a selection of relevant courses from each partner, laying the groundwork for integration with the project toolkit. The first Training of Trainers event, scheduled for September at UPB, will serve as a pilot for this integration. The event will follow a structured storyline, beginning with sensors and measurement, progressing through data collection and acquisition, and culminating in data processing and cloud computing applications.
Training of Trainers Event Details
The Training of Trainers event will span five days, with each partner leading a day of six hours of lectures. The thematic breakdown is as follows:
- UNIVPM: Sensors and Acoustics
